THE FISHING VILLAGE OF SOUFRIERE

Soufriere

Holiday snappers in St Lucia tend to concentrate on the famous Pitons when they visit Soufriere. We were up the hill opposite them (that's the foot of a Piton on the far right) and I looked down to the harbour and photographed the schooner. The resulting picture is one of my all-time favourites. It has real depth; from the foliage in the left foreground, by way of the palms, to the harbour and on to the Pitons. Very restful: it has been my desktop background for many years and I never tire of it.
